			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h3><em><strong>Dawn Elizabeth Freeman</strong></em></h3>
<h3><em><strong>Founder &#038; Director</strong></em></h3>
<p>A native of Lexington, KY, she was educated at the University of Kentucky and the University of Arkansas.  Her dance training began at an early age with Mary Jo Holland and continued with Diana Evans School of Dance, Lexington Ballet, and the University of Louisville Ballet.  She has continued her study of dance in NYC, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Dallas, New Orleans, Cincinnati, and Tulsa.  Her advanced studies include Dance Masters Teacher&#8217;s Training, Dance Educators Teacher&#8217;s Training, and she is an accrediated member of Dance Educators of America. Miss Dawn has also studied and received accreditation in the area of Children&#8217;s Protocol from the Protocol School of Washington, DC.  </p>
<p>Her awards and recognitions include:  featured dancer for &#8220;Salute to Teens&#8221; and Lafayette High School, model and member of the McAlpins Teen Board for four years, and professional model for Casual Corner.  She is a past member and performer of Lexington Children&#8217;s Theatre and Lexington Musical Theatre.  While residing in Arkansas and managing a studio, she was also a performing member of Solid Gold Dancers.  At UK she was Top Winner of the UK Fraternity/Sorority Performance Dance Contest. </p>
<p>Currently she remains a sustaining member of the Junior League of Lexington where  she was recipient of the Unsung Hero Award. She is past Chair of the Junior League &#8220;Kids of the Block&#8221; performing puppet group and past Trophy Chair of the Summer Junior League Horse Show.  She is a member of Southern Hills United Methodist Church and is a regular volunteer in the Childrens&#8217; Minsitry and Hope Center for Women.  She is currently chairing the 25th Anniversary Committee for Walnut Hill Day School.  </p>
<p>In January 2003 and February 2003, Miss Dawn was was featured in <em>Dance Teacher Magazine</em>. </p>
<p>She became a dance assistant and demonstrator at the age of 12 and started her teaching career at the age of 17.</p>
<p>Her past teaching experiences include instructor for:  Kiddie Kapers, Golds Gym Aerobics, and Diana Evans School of Dance. For six years she managed and taught at the Grayce Dewitt School of Dance in Arkansas.  Having founded Gotta Dance Studio in 1991, she continues directing, teaching, and sharing her love of the art form of dance.  </p>

<h3><em>Kim Carney</em></h3>
<p> began dancing at the age of seven at Ann Carroll School of Dance in Franklin, Tennessee.  She was a member of the ACDS Dance Company for six years where she traveled throughout the southwestern states studying and competing.  While at ACSD, she was a member of the Southern Association of Dance Masters and Dance Educators of America and worked as an assistant and choreographer.  She attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where she continued her dance education.  She was producer for Dance SCAPA for four years.  Miss Kim has taught ballet, tap, jazz, and Performance and Competition Teams at GDS for 16 years.  She is marrried and has three children.</p>
<h3><em>Kristin Carney</em></h3>
<p> started dancing at the age of three at GDS.  She participated in ballet, tap, and jazz classes.  She was a member of the competition team for eight years.  She also attended SCAPA as a dance major from 4th through 8th grade.  She went on to Dunbar High School and joined the Color guard for three years.  During her senior year she decided to follow a dream and become a dance teacher. She has been teaching at the studio for four years and now is a Competition Team instructor. Miss Kristin is a Business major at the University of Kentucky. She is so excited to be able to share her love of dance with her students at GDS!</p>
<h3><em>Whitley Combs</em></h3>
<h3><em>Jamie Curtis</em></h3>
<p> has studied several forms of dance from Cechetti and Vaganova Ballet to Modern such as Graham and Horton.  She has been in numerous Dance Educators and Dance Master of America competitions around the country including Canada and New York City and holds a D.M.A Title.  She is a former student of the School for Creative and Performing Arts and attended Governors&#8217; School for the Arts.  She was accepted to Ballet Aspen in Aspen, Colorado to study for 4 weeks her senior year in high school.  Miss Jamie was also an entertainment dancer for the Miss Lexington and Miss Kentucky pageants.  She was the youngest member of the Syncopated, Inc. Dance Company in Lexington where she studied under Keith Lee, former Soloist for The American Ballet Theater in New York City and Ballet Master for Alvin Ailey Dance Theater.  She is married with three children.  She has been employed at GDS since 2010 and has been a Competition Team instructor since 2011.  Miss Jamie has a passion for dance that she hopes to share with her students.</p>
<h3><em>Tamra Wells Graves</em></h3>
<p> has been employed at GDS since 2006.  This is her 5th year as a Competition Team instructor.</p>
<h3><em>Dani Heller</em></h3>
<p> has been a part of GDS for 16 years where she took classes in ballet, jazz, tap, pointe, modern, hip hop, and lyrical.  She was a member of the GDS Competition Team for ten years and a classroom assistant at the studio for eight years. She was a member of the 3-time National Champions, Tates Creek High School Dance Team, for four years. She was nominated and selected as a member to the NDA All American Team both her junior and senior year.  She is currently a sophomore on the University of Kentucky Dance Team.  This is her second year teaching at GDS and she is so excited to share her love for dance with younger students.</p>
<h3><em>Hannah Monthie</em></h3>

<p> started dancing with GDS at the age of two. She continued to study different styles of dancing ballet, Pointe, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and lyrical. She was a classroom assistant and was a member of the GDS Competition team. She was also a member of her high school dance team. Savannah is currently a sophomore at Transylvania University and is excited to be back at GDS as teacher!</p>
<h3><em>Scarlett Nicholson</em></h3>
<p> currently attends Transylvania University and will graduate in 2013 with double-major in Psychology and English and a minor in French.  She trained at GDS from 1993-2009 where she was a member of the award-winning competition team and a classroom assistant for many years.  During this time, she attended several workshops under the direction of various accomplished instructors.  In high school, she was a member of the Lexington Christian Academy dance team and choreographed the drama department’s musical production during her sophomore year.  Miss Scarlett has studied several forms of dance, including ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, clogging, lyrical, and hip-hop.  Her favorite styles to perform and teach are ballet and tap.  She has been employed as an instructor since 2009.  This is Miss Scarlett&#8217;s 18th year at GDS.</p>
<h3><em>Stacy Johnson Seale</em></h3>
<p> started out at GDS as a dancer herself at the age of nine.  She was a member of the Performance Team, Competition Team, and a classroom assistant for many years.  Miss Stacy started teaching in 2000 when she entered college.  She has taught ballet, pointe, tap, and jazz to dancers of all ages.  Miss Stacy was a competition team teacher for several years.  She has attended dance instructor conferences in New York offered through Dance Educators and Dance Masters of America.  In addition to her career as a dance instructor, she has a Master&#8217;s degree in Clinical Psychology and works locally for two private practices.  Miss Stacy is married to her husband, Jackson, and they have two daughters, Addyson and Brynlee. </p>
<h3><em>Jaime Spanish Shouldis</em></h3>
<p> has been employed at GDS since 2006.  This is her 5th year as a Competition Team instructor.</p>
<h3><em>Holly Smith</em></h3>
<p> started dancing at the age of three and joined the GDS family at the age of five.  She participated in tap, ballet, and jazz and later joined the GDS competition team.  At 13, she had the opportunity to join Jesse Clarks Middle School&#8217;s Dance Team as an eighth grader.  In high school, Miss Holly was a member of Lafayette High School&#8217;s Color guard and Winter guard.  GDS drew her back again in her junior year, where she now shares her love of dance with her students.</p>
<h3><em>Ashley Benton Willis</em></h3>
<p> started dancing when she was three years old at GDS under the instruction of Miss Dawn.  She progressed to the competition team throughout middle and high school where she explored many styles of dance, including ballet, tap, jazz, clogging, modern, and African.  During high school, she was a student at SCAPA at Lafayette where she was a Contemporary Dance major for four years.  After sitting out two years of college due to injury, she spent two years as a member of the EKU dance team.  During that time, she was also the technique coach at Madison Central High School for their JV and Varsity dance teams.  This is her second year at GDS as a Competition Team instructor and solo choreographer.  Miss Ashley graduated from EKU with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and works as a customer service representative at RockTenn.  She is very excited to be able to further her dance career, even if she no longer the student, but the teacher instead!<br />
